Want to submit to Hot off the Press?

Hot off the Press is a digital platform showcasing dynamic comics from new and established creators. We consider standalone comics as well as excerpts from forthcoming works. Submissions should showcase distinctiveness and originality. Selected comics are published on a rolling basis. Read Hot off the Press here.

We are interested in:

 Non-fiction comics

 Autobiographical comics

 Comics that highlight the absurdity of everyday life

 Political comics

 Historical Comics

 Eclectic approaches to the comics form

What Should I Submit?

We are looking for standalone comics or excerpts from completed comics that have not been previously published. We do not consider superhero comics or conventional approaches to genre work, such as horror, science fiction, or fantasy—though we appreciate submissions that constructively defy categorization.

Submissions can be anywhere from 1-15 pages. In addition to the completed submission, applicants are invited (but not required) to include:

·      A brief biography (no more than 200 words).

·      A link to relevant social media accounts (if appropriate).

 

Due to the volume of submissions, only successful applicants will be contacted. Complete submissions can be sent to dirty.water.comics@gmail.com with “Hot off the Press” included in the subject line. Selected creators will be paid an honorarium.
